Statement

In method and subject, my art is a conduit for processing my thoughts. By translating memories through established visual languages such as books and star charts, I find a structure to organize my mind. By combining these systems with slow craft processes of letterpress, bookbinding, and papermaking, my practice asks me to breathe and be patient.

I aim to craft a moment of intimacy - a safe, quiet conversation between the art and the viewer. The experience of books and small-scale prints are solitary; they beckon their audience to draw near and pause the rest of the world for a brief moment to take them in. In the creation of these works, I hope to create the same meditative space for the viewer that I experience as the maker.
